Newly Qualified Teachers

Partners in Learning are now responsible for the administration of the NQT Appropriate Body on the behalf of Doncaster Council. We are currently supporting over 250 NQTs and their mentors/induction tutors in Doncaster. We are passionate about developing highly effective practitioners and leaders from the moment they are registered with our team. We also offer a comprehensive range of professional learning opportunities and guidance to enable NQTs in all phases to successfully complete induction. For ONLY £100 per term per NQT, for Enhanced Members or £120 per term per NQT for Core Members you will have access to: - Co-ordination, processing and moderation of Statutory Assessment forms each term. - Welcome Event in September for Headteachers, Governors, Induction Tutors and NQTs - Revised NQT Documentation - Mentor Training - Mentor Network each term - NQT Network each term

Newly Qualified Teacher Development Programme - Primary

The Partners in Learning Primary NQT programme is designed and facilitated to support NQTs through a series of face-to-face training sessions, gap tasks and a peer network. This extended programme will be sustained over a ten-month period and will be designed in line with the Standard for teachers’ professional development (DfE 2016). It will complement in-school CPD and support from mentors. Wherever possible we will draw upon the best available evidence on teaching and learning.

The purpose of the programme:

• To support the participants to meet the required induction standards
• To provide NQTs with teaching strategies that have been proven to support learning
• To facilitate a network for continued professional learning and mutual support

Involvement

A programme of support and development which includes:

• Welcome Meetings
• Face to Face training and networking sessions
• On-going training and support for Mentors
• Regular in school mentoring

Face to Face Day 1 

  • Delivering High Quality Teaching & Learning through the Foundation Subjects
  • 28.11.18, 9am until 3:30pm at Castle Hills Primary School
  • The day will focus on the importance of a curriculum that embraces foundation subjects to inspire and motivate learners

NQT and Mentor Support Surgery

  • 28.11.18, 4pm until 6pm at The Pinfold
  • This twilight session is a drop in surgery for mentors and NQTs needing advice, guidance or support.

  • This twilight session is a drop in surgery for mentors and NQTs needing advice, guidance or support.

Face to Face Day 2

  • Delivering High Quality Teaching & Learning through the Core Subjects
  • 06.02.19, 9am until 3:30pm at Castle Hills Primary School
  • The day will focus on the core subjects of Literacy, Mathematics and Science.

Face to Face Day 3

  • Establishing High Expectations and Creating a Positive Climate for Learning
  • 06.03.19, 9am until 3:30pm at Castle Hills Primary School
  • The day will explore a range of approaches for effective behaviour management and the essential components for creating an outstanding climate for learning.

NQT and Mentor Support Surgery

  • 28.03.19, 4pm until 6pm at The Pinfold
  • This twilight session is a drop in surgery for mentors and NQTs needing advice, guidance or support.

  • Experiencing High Quality Teaching and Learning in Different Contexts
  • 22.05.19, 9am until 3:30pm at Castle Hills Primary School
  • The day will explore the common features of high quality teaching and learning and will include a school enquiry visit

  • Understanding Learning and Progress
  • 25.06.19 9am until 3:30pm Castle Hills Primary School 
  • The day will consider a range of assessment strategies to enable all learners to make good progress.

 

Cost

  • Core Members: £395.00 per NQT
  • Extended Members: £345.00 per NQT
  • Enhanced Members: £295.00 per NQT

20.11.18 - Health and Well-being Training Session for NQTs and ITTs

" In the school environment of 2018 and beyond, you need to know how to manage your workplace stress.  Learn about signs and symptoms of stress. Reflect on how to give your life meaning whilst not getting swamped underneath a mound of books.  You will pick up tools on how to become more resilient and how to balance being busy but with relaxation. We take a have brief look at recognising and managing negative thinking and how to approach mindfulness.

 A whistle stop tour in just two hours."

 These sessions are FREE and will be held as twilight sessions. There are only 20 places available so book on now to avoid disappointment.

Accredited Mentor Training

Exciting opportunity for ITT and NQT Mentors in all Doncaster schools

 ‘Partners in Learning’ are working in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University to offer free online mentor training and accreditation.

Mentors have a key role supporting the professional development of trainees and newly qualified teachers and this programme has been designed to further support your development and provide accreditation for the significant expertise and skills mentors have.
