Development Programme for Deputy Heads, Assistant Heads and SLT.

 This Development Programme focuses on situations which Deputy Heads, Assistant Heads and other SLT may face when their Headteacher is out of school or they have been placed in charge of the school. This programme includes: key aspects of human resources, coaching and managing difficult conversations, whilst working in triads and developing coaching skills.

Programme Outline 

  • 28.11.17 from 9am until 4pm
    • This session will launch the projects which will be undertaken by delegates. Key aspects of 'Human Resources' will also be covered. 
  • Delegates will then work within their triads to shadow colleagues and work on set projects and tasks. 
  • 21.02.18 from 3pm until 5:30pm
    • This session will focus on difficult conversations and coaching mechanisms to deal with these conversations. 
    • Delegates will be asked to update facilitators on project progression.
  • 21.03.18 - 3pm until 5:30pm
    • This session will focus on courageous leadership.
    • Delegates will be asked to update facilitators on project progression.
  • 22.05.18 - 1pm until 4pm 
    • This session will be a celebration of the delegates progress. Headteachers from the delegates schools will be invited to attend to view the project presentations. 

Participants will be expected to attend all dates and participants will end the course with:

  1. More in depth knowledge of HR and Performance Management procedures and good practice;
  2. A grounding in interrogating whole school and individual class data that informs more effective Pupil Progress Meetings;
  3. A taster knowledge of coaching and approaching difficult conversations;
  4. The completion of a small Action Research based leadership project;
  5. Inspiration to Lead

Price of this programme 

  • £150.00 per delegate for Enhanced Members
  • £175.00 per delegate for Core Members
  • £200.00 per delegate for Non-Members
