Session 4: How do we create positive learning behaviours in the classroom? - Matt Scott and Becky Ward—17th January

Focus:

  • The use of theory and practice with relation to Carole Dweck (Growth Mindset)
  • The use of theory and practice with relation to Guy Claxton (Learning Powers)
  • How does the theory translate into classroom strategies which impact on positive behaviour
  • Providing opportunities to discuss mini activities/actions that lead to positive behaviour e.g. seating plan, behaviour point systems, student leadership, competition, kinaesthetic learning

Session 5: How do we judge progress over time? - Sarah Wadd and Stacey Parker-Browne—15th March

Session 6: How do we plan and deliver explanation in lessons? - Rachel Wetton, Vicci Williamson and Lindsey Chapman—18th April

Session 7: How do we challenge the more able, to ensure maximum progress? - Helen Tredgett and Michelle Wilson —23rd May
