This term’s Primary System Leader training took place over two sessions on 5th February and 12th March at Holiday Inn, Warmsworth. Over 50 Primary System Leaders attended the training led by Diane Heritage, Director of Professional Learning at Partners in Learning.
The training focused on:
- Understanding more about coaching and how it can support professional development
- Considering the evidence regarding coaching for improved performance
- Coaching models
- Considering the leadership skills and competencies required for coaching
- Developing coaching skills and competencies through deliberate practice
The training consisted of a mixture of presentations and group tasks, including the opportunity to practise coaching skills in ‘coaching triads’. Feedback from the training was really positive with System Leaders finding the practical elements of the training particularly beneficial.
‘Another superb, high quality, instantly usable session - thank you.’
‘This was excellent CPD and incredibly useful and timely.’
Following the success of the System Leader training, this programme is also being offered to school leaders interested in developing their skills and competencies to coach others.
